Hampton Inn Phoenix/Scottsdale at Shea Reopens as New Resort-Style Hampton Inn & Suites following Yearlong Upgrade and Reconstruction

ZMC Hotels is pleased to announce the reopening of the Hampton Inn at Shea Boulevard and North Scottsdale Road on October 13. The hotel underwent a yearlong closure and a massive, multimillion-dollar ground-up renovation and upgrade project that transformed it into a larger, resort-style Hampton Inn & Suites. The hotel now features a spectacular, oasis-style pool area and glass-walled lobby, far beyond typical brand standards.

Originally consisting of two stories with 130 standard guest rooms, the newly rebranded Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix/Scottsdale on Shea Boulevard has been enlarged and reconfigured, and now comprises three stories and a total of 150 new guest rooms, including 48 new suites and two new grand suites with expansive balconies. In the course of the renovation, one end of the original building was demolished, two new wings were added, and a third story was added to the remaining portion of the original building. The pool area was completely redone and the porte-cochere was relocated to a more a central position. As a result, every aspect of the hotel is newly constructed and designed for guest comfort and convenience.

“This is the most significant renovation ZMC has ever gone through and would be the most significant renovation most hotel ownership groups have ever gone through, as well,” said Senior Project Manager, Byron Chapman.

Highlights of the new hotel include an impressive two-story lobby and breakfast room overlooking an exquisitely landscaped pool and patio area, which features inviting seating areas with fire pits, mature palms and colorful bougainvillea-draped trellises. The hotel also reopened with a new, larger fitness center and improved meeting facilities with updated technology. Fixtures and finishes in the guest rooms and public areas reflect the freshness of the Forever Young design initiative and are the most upscale and up-to-date available in the Hampton Inn line. Guest connectivity and convenience are paramount, with charging outlets thoughtfully provided throughout the guest rooms and lobby, and amenities like digital check-in and free Wi-Fi.

“The moment they arrive at the new Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix/Scottsdale on Shea Boulevard, guests know that they are truly someplace special,” said hotel General Manager, Damian Humphreys. “The entire property has been beautifully landscaped and the attention to detail both inside and out has been incredible.”

“We have an unbeatable location and we’re well-known for the service we provide, so our closure over the past year has left a big gap in hospitality service for the area, particularly for Hilton Rewards members. It’s exciting to see the enthusiasm expressed by local businesses and previous guests over our reopening,” said Humphreys.

Centrally located at 10101 North Scottsdale Road, the hotel offers easy access to the restaurants and nightlife in historic Old Town Scottsdale to the south and to the high-end shopping and dining in North Scottsdale, as well as to the Scottsdale Airpark and nearby MLB Spring Training Facilities, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers.
